Jeg jobber som førsteamanuensis ved Fakultet for biovitenskap (BIOVIT) innen bærekraftige matsystemer, med hovedfokus på husdyrproduksjon. Inntil videre er jeg også fungerende leder for faggruppen Avl, genetikk og matproduksjonssystemer. Sammen med min kollega professor Ola Westengen leder jeg NMBUs bærekraftsarena Bærekraftige matsystemer

Jeg gir også videreutdanningskurs, i samarbeid med Senter for etter- og videreutdanning her ved NMBU. Kommende kurs holdes i Trøndelag og på Vestlandet.

Fra august 2024 er jeg programansvarlig for det nye masterprogrammet i bærekraftige matsystemer. Programmet er utviklet og gjennomføres i samarbeid med kolleger ved flere andre fakulteter her på NMBU. Fra 2025 har vi også samarbeid innen undervisning med masterprogram for urbant landbruk.

I tillegg leder jeg utviklingen av et pilotverktøy som skal hjelpe studentene å lære om matsystemer. Verktøyet gir studentene mulighet til å utforske et eksempel på et matsystem, med enkle mekanismer som visualiserer for eksempel avveininger mellom ulike hensyn. Piloten er finansiert av Direktoratet for høyere utdanning og kompetanse, og testes ut i undervisningen her, samt på studenter i etter-og videreutdanningskurs som jeg holder. Forhåpentligvis får vi anledning til å videreutvikle en fullversjon av verktøyet.
