The publication “Modeling hydrological impacts of climate change in different climatic zones” by Fasil Ejigu Eregno and his supervisors Chong-Yu Xu (University of Oslo) and Nils-Otto Kitterød (Norwegian University of Life Sciences), has been selected as a 2014 Highly Commended Paper winner for International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management.

The article is now freely available (until the end of May)

The study use observations from three different climate zones (China, Ethiopia and Norway) to calibrate two different hydrological models to simulate the runoff response to precipitation and temperature. Global Warming has impact on the water balance. The current study demonstrates the conceptual uncertainty with respect to hydrological processes, and concludes that simulation of climate scenarios should be undertaken by a diversity of model concepts.
