Support for cooperation in education
During a contact conference for the universities and university colleges, the Minister announced that the Oslo Fjord Alliance has been granted NOK 1.2 millions. The alliance has previously been granted a stipend position.
"This signals my active support of such processes. I would like to see more voluntary cooperations between higher institutions. The Ministry of Education is interested in encouraging institutions to work together," said Aasland in her speech.
The cooperation between the four education institutions has begun with engineering studies, and admissions as well as the study structure will be coordinated. The institutions in the alliance will also coordinate teacher education and consider the conditions for future fusions.
