Living Lab Day - Introducing NMBU’s living lab for industrial digitalization
Join us for Living Lab Day at NMBU on 12 November! We welcome industry partners, researchers, and students to the launch of our new learning and research environment for industrial digitalization and circular battery systems. The day will feature hands-on demonstrations and discussions on how technology can drive sustainable manufacturing.
This is a new learning and research environment focused on industrial digitalization and circular battery systems through hands-on demonstrations and collaborative discussions: The living lab for industrial digitalization at NMBU’s Faculty of Science and Technology (REALTEK).
This event is for industry partners, researchers and students interested in:
• Industrial digitalization
• The digital product passport (DPP)
• Circular economy for batteries
• Systems engineering and sustainable manufacturing
In the morning, we will present the idea and capacity of the living lab. This will include a discussion of possible topics where industry and other societal contacts can step in and directly interact with our students and our research and teaching environment. We will also show the equipment we have acquired so far.
Lunch at Vitenparken (register by 5 November if you would like lunch).
In the afternoon, we will focus on the digital product passport (DPP). The DPP is a central element of the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which applies to the European common market, including Norway. For an increasing amount of products, it will become mandatory to supply the customer with a DPP. With our disciplinary background and involvement in the DigiPass CSA project within Horizon Europe, we can help manufacturers develop the required digital infrastructures. Our discussions will highlight how DPPs can support traceability, compliance, and circular value creation across the battery life cycle.
See the full program attached below, and more practical information via this link.
We will explore:
- How DPPs link manufacturing and operational data to sustainability objectives
- Practical enablers for DPP implementation such as GS1 Digital Link and semantic data modeling (SHACL)
- Opportunities to connect to the DigiPass CSA project and propose a concrete research and development use case through the upcoming open call
Why you should attend:
- Interact with the new living lab for industrial digitalization at REALTEK
- Understand how the digital product passport will impact your products and compliance requirements within the European common market
- Learn how the DigiPass platform supports data sharing, interoperability, and lifecycle traceability
