Jeg er forsker i filosofi og jobber med anvendt vitenskapsteori. Jeg er særlig interessert i forholdet mellom vitenskap og filosofi, og det vi kaller filosofisk bias i vitenskap. Det jeg har forsket mest på er ulike forståelser av kausalitet, kompleksitet og sannsynlighet, og hvordan disse kommer til uttrykk i forskjellig metodevalg. Slike filosofiske bias kommer ofte med utdanningen, og utgjør en potensiell barriere for tverrfaglig samarbeid og kommunikasjon. I kurset MINA320 og MINA321, Tverrfaglig Samarbeid og Kontroverser om Bærekraft, belyser vi disse problemstillingene, og gir studentene noen verktøy for å identifisere og forklare egne og andres filosofiske bias, som et verktøy for å forstå ekspertuenighet om bærekraftige løsninger på tvers av fagdisipliner og perspektiver.
Jeg underviser også examen philosophicum på engelsk (PHI102), og forskningsetikk med vitenskapsteori på PhD-nivå (MINA400). I tillegg har jeg ansvar for NMBU forskningsetisk forum. Siden 2014 har jeg vært medlem av forskningsetisk utvalg ved NMBU, og jeg de nasjonale forskningsetiske komiteene siden 2017 (Granskningsutvalget og NESH).
Siden 2022 har jeg jobbet 50:50 ved Handelshøyskolen og Fakultet for miljøvitenskap og naturforvaltning (MINA).
