Torun Fretheim

Torun Fretheim is Associate Professor of Finance at the NMBU School of Economics and Business. She holds a PhD in Finance and an MSc in Business Administration (major: Finance), both from NMBU. During her doctoral studies she spent one full year at Birkbeck University of London, focusing on commodity finance and derivatives.

Before returning to NMBU in 2019, she was Associate Professor of Finance at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway (2016–2019) and later held an adjunct position at NHH – Norwegian School of Economics (2020–2022). She still contributes with an annual lecture on Sustainable Investments in the class BED3 Finance and Investments at NHH.

Her research interests include commodity markets, sustainable finance, financial risk management, and portfolio and fund management. She is currently teaching three classes, namely BUS322 Financial Investments and Risk Management, BUS328 Financial Economics of Climate and Sustainability, and INN200 Management Accounting.
