I am a researcher working on crop diversity and sustainable food systems at Noragric, with multidisciplinary training in economics, environmental sciences, and agriculture. I earned my PhD in Economics (Development and Resource Economics) from NMBU in 2022, focusing on seed security in the face of climate shocks and socioeconomic inequality in Africa. My academic journey also includes master's degrees in Environmental Sciences (Tongji University, 2017) and Agricultural and Applied Economics (University of Zimbabwe, 2013), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from the University of Zimbabwe (2010).
My research centres on seed systems, crop diversity, climate-smart agriculture, and rural agro-based livelihoods. I have accumulated research experience from previous positions at various institutions, including postdoctoral research at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute in collaboration with Menon Economics and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management (MINA) at NMBU, a PhD Research Fellowship at the School of Economics and Business (HH) at NMBU, and a Research Fellowship at the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT). I am skilled in quantitative research methodologies, managing extensive survey datasets, conducting randomised control trials, household surveys, and field experiments.
