My warmest congratulations to our newly graduated Doctors. Your achievement represents years of dedication, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge.

Thank you for the time and effort you’ve invested working on the computer, in the lab and in the field, the deep thinking, meticulous analyses and comprehensive writing.

Demonstrating courage and determination in the face of challenges, you have shown what it truly means to pursue knowledge at the highest level. Thank you for your scientific contributions, valuable insights, and displaying resilience through uncertainty.

Ahead is a new chapter in life. Following your PhD, you will apply your knowledge and skills in various ways, both within and outside academia. This offers opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society and to shape your own future. In taking this step, you now join a distinguished community of NMBU alumni scholars whose work continues to have a substantial impact across disciplines and sectors.

NMBU celebrate the Doctors conferred between autumn 2025 and summer 2026 in an open and formal ceremony on 18 September. The event marks a dignified and joyful celebration of our new doctors and their remarkable achievements.

• About the NMBU Doctoral Degree Ceremony

  The ceremony is open to the public. NMBU honor with this ceremony the Doctors conferred upon in the time period of autumn 2025 - summer 2026 and their supporters, for their efforts.  The ceremony lasts from 12:00 to 13:45 and will be held in the auditorium Aastveit at NMBU. Family, colleagues, and friends are most welcome to attend the ceremony.

  When presenting the Doctors, the Rector will greet each doctor present at the ceremony and present a pro forma diploma. Doctors who are not able to attend the ceremony can receive the diploma by mail when ordering to forskerutdanning@nmbu.no. Remember to write the address to which you would like it to be sent.

  After the ceremony there will be a group photo of the Doctors outside of Urbygningen (Clock buildning), before a reception for the Doctors and their invited guests. The reception starts at 14:00.

  Dress code

  We kindly ask guests to dress smartly for the occasion. Men typically wear a suit, and women may choose a dress, a skirt and blouse, or a trouser suit. It is also perfectly appropriate to wear national dress.
