Special syllabus (Course code: SPE-PHD-VET)
- If no suitable course is available at NMBU, a special syllabus at PhD level may be approved as part of the required coursework. Before you go ahead with a special syllabus, you must enter into an NMBU 3.1 Agreement for special syllabus (Word document) with the faculty.
- If you take courses offered by "non-academic" institutions (companies, organizations, networks) a written agreement for special syllabus must be in place with the faculty.
- 30 student working hours per credit (ECTS)

VET431 - Oral presentation at a national conference
VET432 - Oral presentation at an international conference
PhD candidates admitted to the PhD program from 01.04.2018:
A presentation (oral or poster) at a national or international conference equals 1 credit.
Maximum 4 credits.PhD candidates admitted to the PhD program before 01.04.2018:
A poster presentation at a national or international conference equals 1,5 credits.
An oral presentation at a national conference equals 1,5 credits and an oral presentation at an international conference equals 3,0 credits.
Maximum 9 credits ( 2 posters + 2 oral presentations).
Research stay (Course code: VET433)
A study residency of at least 2 weeks duration in a foreign country is credited with 1.5 credits. Maximum 3 credits. (With effect from 1 July 2020).
