The student chaplain at NMBU has three main tasks:
1) Highlight that all students are entitled to freedom of religion and belief. The student chaplain is available for students of all faiths and beliefs, including Muslims, Buddhists, Hunduists, Agnostics and Atheists.
2) Be a conversation partner for anyone who needs somebody to talk with. With the student chaplain you can talk about anything from exams, studies, death and sorrow, to love, faith and finding your own way in life. The chaplain is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
3) Religious duties and church services. The last Thursday of the month, the student chaplain welcomes all to an open Church service in Ås kirke. At times he also participates in the meetings of the Christian Student Society at Samfunnet.
It is not always easy to talk with friends or family members, and you may need an experienced person who can provide a different perspective.
You are welcome to stop by for a chat!
