Albert Ludwig University Freiburg is one of the oldest in Germany, founded in 1457. Freiburg is an environmentally progressive, popular student town with a population of around 200,000, and lies in the south west of Germany, not far from the borders of Switzerland and France. It is also known for its favourable climate.

About the agreement
The agreement covers forestry at the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, economics at the Department of Economics and physics at the Department of Physics.

Who can apply
For all Erasmus agreements it is necessary to have attained 60 credits on your current NMBU program before commencing on an exchange study abroad.

Number of study places
Two places a year at the Department of Physics, plus two places per year divided between the other departments.

Language of teaching
Mostly German. Some courses in English (e.g. in the Master programs Environmental Sciences and Forest Sciences).

Semester timing
Autumn semester: October - February.
Spring semester: April – July.

Tuition Fees
Erasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. However, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university.

Accommodation
The university can offer student rooms.
