PLPR 2027 Ph.D. Workshop

Are you a Ph.D. candidate working at the intersection of planning, law, and property rights? Join us for the PLPR 2027 Ph.D. Workshop - a unique opportunity to sharpen your research, connect with peers, and get feedback from senior scholars in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.

Whether you're just starting out or deep into your dissertation, this workshop is designed to help you move forward.

Why join the PLPR Ph.D. Workshop?

  • Personalised mentoring in small groups
  • Practice and refine your research pitch
  • Tackle key questions and challenges in your project
  • Build your international academic network within the PLPR community

Who can apply?

The workshop is open to Ph.D. candidates whose projects connect at least two of PLPR’s core themes: planning, law, and property rights. It is part of the main PLPR conference and not a stand-alone event. This means that only candidates whose abstracts are accepted for the main conference can participate.

How to apply?

1. Submit an abstract for a regular paper to the PLPR 2027 Conference.

2. Once accepted, submit a short (max. 3-page) description of your PhD project via ConfTool not later than 7 February 2027. This should include:

  • Problem setting
  • Research question(s)
  • Theoretical background
  • Methods
  • Current status of your research
  • Any issues you'd like feedback on

You’ll hear back in end of February 2027.

The workshop is free of charge, but registration for the main PLPR conference is required. Participation in the workshop is limited to 24 PhD candidates. Each PhD research project poster will be displayed in an exhibition on Wednesday during the main conference.

Ahead of the conference, accepted participants will gather for an online pre-conference meeting on 9 April 2027 at 10am (CEST). This session will serve as an informal opportunity to get to know each other, run through the workshop preparations, and answer any practical question before arriving.
