Sustainable Infrastructure

The main aim of this research is to provide the basis for developing new strategies and technologies for a sustainable infrastructure. Construction of buildings and related infrastructure should be adapted to the expected climate changes and future requirements for reduced CO2-emissions and reuse of resources.

Sustainable Infrastructure

An affluent society is characterized by good housing, clean water, safe food and access to energy; goods that require extensive infrastructure. A rapidly growing world population and climate change leads to new challenges with shortages of key resources, increased environmental impact, increased health risks and new stresses on structures. Future sustainable infrastructure will have to be developed to meet these challenges.
