Soon plant scientists at NMBU will be able to take a tour of the fields and discover what grew there a couple of years ago, without the need for a time machine or heavy footwear. The only tools needed are a pair of glasses and a computer.
In Febrary 2016 The Minister of Agriculture and Food Jon Georg Dale asked if he could have a look at our systems for precision farming. We showed him our Thorvald robot, and even let him drive the robot, which he seemed to enjoy a lot! We all agreed that this is the future of farming.
We had the great pleasure to show three of our robotics projects that we have developed in cooperation with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro to an official Norwegian delegation visiting Brazil. The delegation was introduced to three projects: the agricultural robot Thorvald; the offshore robot Doris; and a project for monitoring coral reefs using underwater robots.
