In this landmark work, led by Bastien Bissaro in the PEP group, we show that LPMOs do not use oxygen but rather hydrogen peroxide in their catalytic reaction to degrade cellulose or other polysaccharides.

2016.05.26: Minister of Agriculture and Food, Jon Georg Dale, was again visiting the biorefinery laboratory. This time to announce that NMBU has got a new Center for Environment-friendly Energy Research, a so called FME (Forskningssenter for miljøvennlig Energy) Center. The Center is named Norwegian Centre for Sustainable Bio-based Fuels and Energy, and focus on production of 2nd generation biofuels. This is a huge Centre with around 50 partners and it will run for 8 years. The BTB group will particpate in the Centre. More information here (Norwegian).
