Eik Lab is an initative for student-driven innovation and entrepreneurship at NMBU. The aim is to make students more attractive on the labor market by gaining relevant experience. We are mainly engaged in technical development, and our activities include prototyping, electronics, programming, design, 3D drawing, simulations, and market analysis.
Student engagement
When you get involved in the activities at Eik Lab, you become part of a community of enthusiasts. You don't need to register or have any experience. All you need is the will to help make cool things happen! At Eik Lab, you get the opportunity to develop your toolbox and gain experience in solving real problems for business- and industry partnerse. This can make your CV stand out in the crowd when you are applying for jobs after your studies.
Innovation and start-ups
Several students have started their own successful businesses at Eik Lab. For instance Sensorita, Soundsensing and LiTech, that are using groundbreaking technology to solve big environmental and societal challenges. If your idea is particularly good, you could even get the chance to develop it as part of your master's thesis.
Industry and business cooperation
At Eik Lab, we work closely with industry players, so that we can offer students activities that give them insight into working life.
We are located at the second floor of the REALTEK building (TF2-204). If you're not familiar with NMBU or REALTEK, you can find us on Mazemap.
Feel free to follow us on social media to learn more about us! On Facebook and Instagram we publish information about workshops, where you can learn things like 3D modelling, Arduino and machine learning. Our workshops are open to all NMBU students.
