Output Styles

Output Styles are used to define the appearance of citations and reference lists. Please note that many scientific journals may have their own rules for citations and the use of references. If this is the case, you must observe these house styles, and there are many styles available in EndNote which you can use. EndNote contains more than 5,000 different styles.
To download the latest styles go to: Downloads - EndNote.

EndNote styles for Master’s theses
The Harvard System of Referencing is often used in MSc theses (author-date method). A Harvard style follows the EndNote software, but we do not recommend using this style. The University Library has created a Norwegian and an English Harvard style for EndNote. You can download one of the styles and use it in your Master’s thesis unless your supervisor recommends another style. On the download page you can also find examples of different sources in Harvard style.
