Course contents:
Based on the teaching from the TBA160 course, there will be an elaborated theory and examination of the methods and tools used for assuring the quality of the various planning stages. Some of the central topics to be taught are: plot analysis, concept development, architecture, material use and universal design. Training in technical drawing and CAD, including BIM (Building Information Modeling) are included. An excursion is incorporated in the course.
Learning outcome:
The students shall upon completion of the course have theoretical knowledge of building design and demonstrate practical skills in planning and designing buildings.

Assessment:
Exercises. Project assignment to be submitted on the last day of the semester. Agreement for partial submission will be made at the start of the semester.
Nominal workload:
For a course of 10 credits, ca. 300 hours of work in total is normally to be expected. That means that, in addition to structured teaching, ca. 17 hours of work must be expected per week.

Type of course:
Structured teaching is 78 hours, divided 50/50 between lectures and supervised exercises. The majority of the lectures will be given in the first part of the semester.
