Masters degree students in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The course shall provide the students with basic knowledge about what innovation is and the importance of innovation for value creation of firms and society.
Introduction to innovation, definitions. Innovating team and the innovative orgaisation. Creativity and innovation. Innovation strategy. Sources of innovation. User driven innovation. Decision making under uncertainty. Innovation network. Development of the innovation case.
Students should know the difference between innovation and invention. They will learn about different types and theories of innovation, and the connection between innovation and technological change. The students will get insight in the innovation process,creativity in innovation, innovation strategy, sources of innovation, importance of networks, decisions under uncertainty, basic insights in the business plan and evaluation of innovation projects and the importance of knowledge and learning in the innovation process. In addition the students will gain insight and experiential training in how to develop ideas, evaluate them and test them out in early innovation phase.
Through practice-based learning the students will develop, screen and test ideas in the idea formulation phase.
Start process of team-learning.
The course is based on active participation of the students and focuses on knowledge building through individual problem solving,exercises, presentations and group work.
The course will focus on starting the team-work which will be continued in INN220.
The students will work out and sign a team contract which regulate the team assigment project that continues in INN220. This contract has to be approved by the course teachers. It the contract is violated the team has to arrange a meeting with their mentor and teacher. The teachers will decide further action with respect to further process and work.

The course is concluded with an oral examination based on the work the students have done during the course that counts 70%. Two written assignments counts 15% of the final grade each.
