Course contents:
The course gives a brief introduction to presentation and analysis of  numerical data. Main topics are regression, stochastic processes, law of large number and the central limit theorem .
Learning outcome:
The course provides the participants with ways to present and analyze data. In particular, it provides insight into how to choose an apropriate way to analyze data given a specific research question.

Basic knowledge in EXCEL
Recommended prerequisites:
It is an advantage to know elementary statistical notions (as found in Mattespettboka Statistikk (author Dag Einar Sommervoll).

24 hour home exam, essay regarding use of statistical methods and final oral exam

Participants must be part of a PhD programme
