Course contents:
Case based introduction to breeding/genetics: Breeding goal, selection, breeding for functional traits, animal genetic resources, aquaculture breeding, QTL, genomic selection, new traits and export of genetic material. The cases will be exemplified by use of different livestock species.
Learning outcome:
Via case, the students will get a brief overview of the possibilities and challenges in breeding and genetics.
