The following topics are covered: System description, coordinate systems, time systems, observables, sources of error, modelling of the observations, measurement methods, calculation methods, applications. Some of the topics are presented by the teacher, and others are presented by the students. Great emphasis is placed on maturing the theoretical skills through practical exercises.
After completing the course, the student is to master the theoretical foundation for positioning using satellite-based techniques and also master various measurement and calculation methods.

Teaching support will be given primarily in connection with that part of the structured teaching that is set aside for exercise guidance. It will also be possible to communicate directly with the course teacher by appointment during office hours.
