The course is divided into 4 main themes: 1) Describe and compare biodiversity 2) Tools for generating phylogenetic trees 3) Explain and validate theories explaining evolution 4) Examples of evolution

Syllabus:
Selected chapters from "Biogeography\" by Cox and Moore in combination with selected scientific papers and content of the lectures.
Prerequisites:
BIO120.
Recommended prerequisites:
Basic knowledge about evolution.
Mandatory activity:
Students are asked to deliver 2 homework assignments in Fronter.
Assessment:
A three houres written exam.
Nominal workload:
Structured lectures: 25 hours. Individual student contributions: 275 hours.
