In this course, emphasis will be placed on the issues relating to electricity grid and energy storage systems. The benefits and shortcomings of selected energy storage systems and their sizing methods will be discussed. Furthermore, planning tools, management and maintenance of grid system will be presented.
After completed course, the student should have complete understanding of the electricity distribution and storage systems
After the completion of the course, the student will able:
- To understand basics concepts of electrical power system distribution planning
- To understand electricity distribution system economics
- To carry out design calculations on sizing of selected energy storage systems
- To discuss factors that affect selection of storage systems
The student shall be able to communicate and discuss issues related to planning of electricity distribution. Furthermore, student will know how to select appropriate storage systems for specific application from economic and technical point of views.
Lectures, exercises, seminars, term paper .
Course responsible can provide academic support to students during office hours
Delivered in first lecture.
Basic knowledge in mathematics (MATH100), FORN200 or similar
Exercises, article review and presentation
Final written exam (3 timer) 100%. Compulsary avtivites must be completed and passed.
Ca.150 hours lectures and exercises, seminars and self study.
