Master studentents ILP and M-REIS
The course is intended for students with little formal mathematical schooling. The main topics are regression and hypothesis testing. Furthermore,how to make a survey and present summary statistics are also lectured. The participants will learn to construct regression models that capture linear as well as nonlinear relationships. Moreover, understand how to we may controle for a discrete variable as gender. The course also cover how to make a survey and present summary statistics. The student is expected to bring her own computer.
The course provides participants with ways to present and analyze data. In particular,provides insight to choose an apropriate way toanalyze data given a specific research question.
Lectures and exercises.
Basic knowledge of Excel
It is an advantage to know elementary statisticalnotions (as found in Mattespettboka Statistikk (authorDag Einar Sommervoll).
