Course contents:
The companion course ECN260 Agricultural Policy I introduced you to the key features of the Norwegian Agricultural Polisy System, and presented some basic theoretical concepts and models you should apply in this course, writing a paper about a policy relevant problem for this sector. Groups will be formed and problems selected and developed in a startup seminar in the beginning of the semester. The teacher will give feedback and guidance during the semester, and group projects will be presented and evaluated in an exam seminar at the end of the semester.  
Learning outcome:

Knowledge: Insights in selected agricultural policy challenges and dilemmas.

Skills: The ability to develop a policy relevant problem, and write a paper together with fellow students where you analyze and discuss the problem. 

The abilty to present and defend a project in a stressful situation.  

General competences: Gain a better understanding of selected agricultural policy dilemmas.      

Learning activities:
Startup seminar, group project guided by the teacher, presentation and defence of the project in a plenary exam seminar.

Prerequisites:
ECN260 Agricultural Policy I
Recommended prerequisites:
Mandatory activity:
Mandatory attendance of the start up and exam seminars. The mandatory activities are valid for only one semester.
Assessment:
Grading will be based on the written paper, an oral presentation of the paper, and the answers given to questions raised by the examinators in the exam seminar.

150 hours
Type of course:
The teacher will arrange a startup seminar early in the semester, and an exam seminar towards the end of the semester.
Note:
This is a companion course to ECN260 Agricultural Policy I.
Examiner:
An external examinator participates in the exam seminar, and the grading is done jointly by the teacher and the external examinator.
