Course contents:

There are two main subjects in this course: Private insurance and business insurance. These are divided into two areas: Business interruption insurance and personal insurance. Additionally we will touch upon the various forms of liability insurance for businesses. Another significant subject will be the current diverse pension schemes. Such as the differences between defined benefit pensions schemes, defined contribution pension schemes and "hybrid" pension schemes.

The process of risk management in relation to insurance as a means to hedge companies against the risk of a contingent, uncertain loss will be given special consideration.

Upon having completed the exam, students will be qualified to apply for positions within insurance related operations and be able to handle the insurance portfolios of small to medium-sized companies.

  • Basic principles concerning calculation of the cost of insurance regarding risk and risktransferInsurance advice for private consumers

The student will be able to

  • Assess risk, handle insurance portfolios, and issue invitations to tender for small and medium-sized companies.
