There are two main subjects in this course: Private insurance and business insurance. These are divided into two areas: Business interruption insurance and personal insurance. Additionally we will touch upon the various forms of liability insurance for businesses. Another significant subject will be the current diverse pension schemes. The process of risk management in relation to insurance as a means to hedge companies against the risk of a contingent, uncertain loss will be given special consideration.
Learning to fully understand and know the basic principles of price calculation in insurance bearing in mind risk and risk transfer. Upon the completion of this course the student will be able to advise private customers on basic issues concerning insurance and master basic calculation of risk, insurance management and procurement of price quotes for small to medium sized companies.
The student will be qualified to apply for jobs with insurance carriers and to manage the insurance program of a small to medium sized company.
A compendium consisting of two integral parts has been compiled specifically for this course.
Term paper counts 40 %, written exam counts 60 %.
