The course will provide an introduction to behavioral economics and will cover key topics such as bounded rationality, limited willpower and social preferences. It will be used examples of behavior from finance, strategy, entrepreneurship, environment, energy, development, marketing, and consumer policy
Learning outcome:
The course will provide students with knowledge about how bounded rationality, limited willpower and social preferences affect people's behavior in a variety of areas within the economy. At the end of the course, the students should be familiar with some of the key concepts in behavioral economics, have gain an understanding of how psychology often affects economic decisions, and learned to recognize some of the most common behavioral economic mechanisms in various parts of the economy.

ECN110, or equivalent introduction course in microeconomics.
Recommended prerequisites:
Mandatory activity:
Mandatory assignment. Valid only for the semester when the assignment was written and at the following retake exam.
Written exam, 3 hours (counts 100 % of total grade).
Nominal workload:
150 hours.

Minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway (generell studiekompetanse)
Type of course:
2 lecture hours per week.
External examiner will control the quality of syllabus, questions for the final examination, and principles for the assessment of the examination answers.
