Thorough introduction to quantitative genetics: kinship and inbreeding, genetic parameters, breeding values, selection, breeding methods and inbreeding in populations.
Engelsk:Students should be able to analyse the effect of different approaches to breeding (in pure- and cross-breeding) and possess sufficient knowledge to continue studies in the subject area.
Lectures and assignments
Assistant lecturer in exercise classes.
Lecture notes + assignments
Engelsk:Statistics, equivalent to STAT100. Genetics, equivalent to BIO120.
All exercises, in the relevant semester, must be passed.
2 written examinations, 3 hrs each.

Type of course:
In autumn parallel: Lectures: 2 hours/ week. Guided assignments: 2 hours/ week. In spring parallel: Lectures: 2 hours/ day. Guided assignments: 2 hours/ day.
Mostly the same subjects as HFA200, lectures together with HFA200 in January block.
Allowed examination aids: All types of calculators, all other aids.
