Muyiwa Sam Adaramola earned his BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife Nigeria, MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. 

He is currently Professor in Renewable Energy at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) Ås Norway. In addition, he holds Professor II position at the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Kampala, Uganda. 

His teaching and research activities includes renewable energy (RE) resources assessment (especially wind energy and solar energy), RE-based energy systems, electricity distribution and storage systems, socio-economic aspects of RE-basedenergy systems,and  hybrid energy systems. Furthermore, his research partners are in universities in Canada, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda.

He has edited 4 scientific books,  authored/co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and 8 book chapters. See CristinScopusResearchGateGoogle Scholar for his researh outputs.

He is project (academic) coordinator for the following projects:

  1. 'An Institutional Collaboration Program between NMBU, Hawassa University and Mekelle University in Ethiopia. NOK 91 million (¨~ US$8.9 million) (Nov 2022 – 2027) 
  2. 'Strengthening education, research, and innovation capacity in sustainable energy for economic development', a project between NMBU and Moi University Eldoret Kenya (US$ 788 000) (2022-2026).
  3. 'Capacity building in Renewable Energy Research and Education in Ethiopia', collaborative project between NMBU, Wondo Genet College (WGC), Hawassa University, Ethiopia, and Dilla University (DU) Ethiopia, NOK 19.1 million ( US$2.3 million) (2021 – 2026).

In addition, he coordinated the following completed projects:

  1. 'National MRV Capacity Building towards Climate Resilient Development in Ethiopia', collaborative project between NMBU and Wondo Genet College, Hawassa University, Ethiopia. NOK 36.5 million ( US$4.36 million) (2015 -2021).
  2. 'Capacity building to strengthen education and research in renewable energy' at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. NORAD Norway funded project. NOK 8.5 million (US$1.0 million) (2015-2021)
