NOVA Strategy Seminar 2018

Topic: UN's Sustainable Development Goals in Higher Education

Dates: 7-8 June 2018

Venue: Veterinary Academy, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, in Kaunas, Lithuania

Welcome to the NOVA Strategy Seminar 2018 with the main topic UN's Sustainable Development Goals in Higher Education. NOVA's financial situation and ambitions will be an additional topic. This year's Strategy Seminar is held in collaboration with BOVA as the NOVA Board and the BOVA Rectors' Board are to meet and renew the cooperation agreement between the two Networks. The Lithuanian University of Health Sciences - Veterinary Academy will host the Seminar in Kaunas.

Invited participants are the BOVA Rectors' Board, the NOVA Board, the BOVA and NOVA Student Boards, the Local BOVA and NOVA coordinators, the Central NOVA-BOVA-Nordplus Coordinator, as well as the BOVA and the NOVA Secretariats.

In addition to the Strategy Seminar, there will be meetings between the BOVA Rectors' Board and the NOVA Board, as well as between the BOVA and NOVA Student Boards. Separate meetings for the BOVA Rectors' Board, the NOVA Board, the BOVA Student Board and the NOVA Student Board are also scheduled. In addition, the local coordinators will have a meeting.

Travel to Kaunas

As the Seminar will start in the morning on Thursday 7 June, we recommend that participants arrive in Kaunas on Wednesday 6 June.

The host institution will organise transport (taxis) from Vilnius International Airport or Kaunas Airport to Kaunas on 6 June, and back on 8 June for those who register for that. The cost for a taxi is around 50 EUR, and must be paid directly to the taxi driver by those taking the taxi.

Hotel: BEST WESTERN Santaka Hotel

Accommodation

All Seminar participants are reserved  rooms at BEST WESTERN Santaka Hotel (address: J. Gruodžio g. 21) for two nights from 6-8 June. The home institutions will have to pay for the accommodation*. Payment is done directly to the hotel onsite. The rate per room per night is between 49-54 EUR (+0,50 EUR per night city tax), including breakfast.

*NOVA will cover accommodation for members of the NOVA Student Board.

Other Information

The host institution will organise transport from the hotel to the Veterinary Academy and back on 7 June, and from the hotel to the Veterinary Academy on 8 June.
