Number of study places

Language of teaching
German, but some courses at Master level are in English.
Good German skills – at least at B2-level – are required.

Semester timing
Autumn semester: September – February.
Spring semester: March – August.

Tuition Fees
Erasmus students must continue to pay for NMBU’s semester fees, plus register with NMBU whilst they are on exchange. Normally, it is not necessary to pay any types of fee at the partner university. However, studying at HAW requires a semester contribution of €269. This fee covers costs for the student union, and the cost for a semester ticket which can be used for travelling on public transport within the greater Hamburg area.

As a general rule, competition for student rooms is tough.
