On 1–2 June 2026, Skatteforsk will host the annual Skatteforum conference. The conference will be divided into an open section in Oslo and a closed conference in Moss.
Skatteforum is a meeting place for academics, policymakers, and other stakeholders interested in taxation research in Norway and abroad. This year’s program will start on 1 June at Kulturhuset in Oslo. This first segment will be an open event where academics and politicians will discuss the strategic choices regarding taxation and capital that lie ahead for Norway in an increasingly unstable geopolitical situation.
Afterwards, conference participants will travel together to Jeløy, Moss, to continue with a more academically oriented program. From the afternoon of 1 June until lunchtime on 2 June, participants will have the opportunity to discuss a series of research presentations, as well as take part in networking opportunities and informal discussions.
The conference keynote, “Myths and Facts in the Norwegian Wealth Tax Debate,” will be given by Knut Røed from Frischsenteret and Skatteforsk.
To encourage further interaction between academics and representatives from the Norwegian Ministry of Finance and the Norwegian Tax Administration, who will be present, a workshop on knowledge needs will be held on the second day of the conference.
We are now open for paper submissions (Deadline: 20th of April). We especially encourage work at an early stage and, in particular, welcome submissions from early-career researchers, including PhD students.
We seek high-quality submissions on taxation from a variety of fields, including economics, law, accounting, and finance.
To submit a paper, please send it to skatteforsk@nmbu.no. Deadline 20th of April, 2026.
If your paper is accepted, you are expected to participate fully on both days of the conference. Accommodation in Jeløy and joint transportation to and from Oslo will be covered for all participants.
