Supporting documents for applications to NMBU

When you register an application in the online application form - Søknadsweb, your supporting documents must be uploaded in your application.

• International applicants

  International applicants for bachelor and master programme must submit the following documents in the application portal.

  Deadlines:

  • 1 December: The application portal closes for new applications.
  • 1 December: Deadline for submitting your documents.

  Required document	Description
  Copy of passport or ID card	Please note that only a copy of the ID-page is required. Name the pdf file passport or ID card.
  Documentation of upper secondary school	Upload a scanned copy of your original diploma. This also applies to applicants to Master's Programmes. Name the pdf file secondary school. Please also upload a transcript of records if your grades are not listed in the diploma. Name the file transcript secondary. Applicants from the Philippines and USA must also order transcripts sent directly from their school to NMBU.
  Documentation of higher education if applicable	Upload a scanned copy of your original transcript of records.Name the pdf file transcript. Upload a scanned copy of your original diploma. Name the pdf file diploma. If you have completed your degree, but are awaiting your diploma, you may upload a provisional certificate. Name the pdf file provisional certificate. Results completed at Norwegian universities need not be uploaded. Please check «my results» in the application portal.   Translations	All documents not already in English or a Scandinavian language must be translated into English or Norwegian. The translation must be done by an officially approved translator, and the original language version must always accompany the translation. Name the pdf file(s) bachelortransl, secondarytransl, etc.
  Documentation of English language proficiency	Read about the language requirements here. Name the pdf file English proficiency.
  Documentation of financial ability for living costs	Read about how to document financing here. Name the pdf file financing.
  Tuition fees	Non-EU/EEA/EFTA citizens are required to pay tuition fees to NMBU. Name the pdf file tuition fees. Read here for information regarding estimated tuition fee per program per year.
  Motivation letter	Applicants to the following study programs have to upload motivation letters: - Agroecology - Animal Science - Aquaculture - Arctic Environmental Forensics - Data Science (Application form) - Economics and Environmental Governance - Genome science - Global Development studies (recommended, but not required) - International Environmental Studies (recommended, but not required) - Landscape Architecture for Global Sustainability  - Photonics - Plant Sciences - Process technology and data science in water treatment - Sustainable Food Systems Please note that other study programmes do not require motivation letters.   Documentation requirements for Norwegian, Nordic and EU citizens and applicants who have a residence permit in Norway.

  Documentation of higher education	Upload a scanned copy of your official transcript of records. Results completed at Norwegian universities need not be uploaded.   Courses to be completed	Are you completing your degree/relevant courses in the same semester as the application deadline? Please upload the following: - A list of the courses you are registered for this semester with the expected date for completion. You still have to document your higher education completed to date, as described under the header «higher education». If you complete your studies next year, you are not eligible to apply now.Final transcript and diploma. If you have not received your diploma yet, you must upload a confirmation from your educational institution stating that you have obtained a degree. Name the pdf file course-completion.
  Translations	Documents of higher education must be translated into English or Norwegian by an officially approved translator, unless issued in English. The original transcript and diploma must accompany the translation. Name the pdf file(s) translation [type of document]
  Documentation of language proficiency	Documentation of English language proficiency must be documented by an internationally recognized English language proficiency test. Name the pdf file IELTS, TOEFL Applicants for Norwegian taught programmes must submit documentation of proficiency in Norwegian.

  Portfolio	Applicants to the Norwegian taught programme Landskapsarkitektur with only grades passed/not passed in their transcript. Max size of upload is 15 MB.

   Please note:

  • You are responsible for uploading all required documentation, as well as ensuring that it is uploaded within the given deadline. As it may take several weeks for institutions and test centres to provide transcripts and/or test scores, please arrange for these documents to be issued as soon as possible.
  • You are liable for the uploaded documents, i.e. that they represent true and unaltered information.
  • A random selection of students will be asked to present original documents. Students that do not, may have their right to study withdrawn.
  • Please note that we maintain the right to contact institutions, firms, associations and government agencies for the purpose of explanation and/or verification of uploaded documents.
