NMBU has introduced the Rights Retention Strategy (RRS) from 1 April 2023. The strategy was passed by the University Board on 9 March 2023. RRS is NMBU's new institutional strategy for the retention of rights to open publishing.
The databases AMED, Embase, PsycINFO and Cochrane Library will not be available via Helsebiblioteket.no (The Norwegian Electronic Health Library) from 1 January 2023. The same also applies to the national access to the New England Journal of Medicine.

The newest version of EndNote, EndNote 20, is now available for NMBU students and employees. With EndNote 20 the system has been upgraded and will have a new user interface.
The libraries at the Tower Building and Adamstuen are moving to the Veterinary building. Thousands of books are waiting to get packed. Therefore, the two sections need to close from December 16th (Tower Building) and December 21st (Adamstuen), ca until the middle of February. The Sørhellinga library will be open as usual. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our new library in 2021!

Students and staff at NMBU can now get access to several Nature-journals. The NMBU University Library has this summer activated new digital subscriptions to different Nature-journals.
Do you have books you want to return before summer starts? You can return books every day in week 24, 8th til 12th of June, even though the library is still closed.
A «read and publish» agreement with American Chemical Society (ACS) is now available for researchers and students at NMBU. The agreement is for articles accepted from 1. Jan 2020.
Staff and students have access to thousands of digital books through the University Library. Search for e-books in Oria or search directly in Springer, EBSCO and the National Library of Norway.
A total of seven open access publishing agreements are now available for NMBU employees. The agreements allow for open access publishing in a wide range of journals. The cost is covered through the subscriptions held by the University Library.
A press release made by the Ministry of Education and Research informs that a unique agreement has been negotiated between Unit (Norway) and Elsevier. The new read & publish agreement ensures access to and allows for open publication in the majority of Elsevier journals.
