NMBU blir absolutt lagt merke til for sitt bærekraftsarbeid.

Thank you very much, Mr. Chair,

No challenge can be handled efficiently without context-sensitivity, transdisciplinary collaboration, and local action.
It is therefore crucial that we increase our knowledge of the interactions between the Sustainable Development
Goals and targets - and identify the feedback cycles among them.

The digital divide is a challenge that has been aggravated by the pandemic. But digitalization is also a key enabler of achieving the SDGs.

Artificial intelligence will play a pivotal role in achieving the SDGs. However, a developmental shift towards sustainable artificial intelligence ecosystems is required. This includes ensuring equality, open data access, green data centres, and reduced carbon footprints of algorithms.

Implementing transformative technologies is a process whereby communities, and society as a whole, must take part in creating viable, long-lasting, and scalable solutions that can be locally adapted and globally efficient.

The Norwegian Voluntary National Report is an example of how sustainability issues can be considered both at a local as well as at a national level.

Norway, through the organisation Global Research Council, is working on a funding mechanism for projects that focus on research impact, innovation and implementation to achieve the 2030 Agenda through the realization of co-benefits and resolving trade-offs between goals and targets.

Securing transdisciplinary interactions with a clear social purpose, can result in real and accelerated impact on society and improvement of the livelihoods of people on the ground.

The 2030 Agenda is global but can only be successful through collaborative partnerships between all stakeholders and action locally.
Thank you.
