In late May, about 75 researchers mainly from universities in the Nordics were gathered for the biennial meeting of the Scandinavian Society of Forest Economics (SSFE).
The chair rotates between the four Nordic forest countries, and thus, for the two last years NMBU has had the chair (Per Kr. Rørstad).
The aims of the meeting were to present research, exchange ideas and promote collaboration among researchers in forest economics and related sciences. The main topic there was how to address climate change mitigation and adaptation while at the same time mitigating the biodiversity crisis.
As part of the meeting, we visited Silva Green Fuel’s demonstration plant at Tofte. The participants were impressed by Silva’s plans and dedication to solve the remaining technical challenges. The plant is one of a kind, so it is clearly interesting to see and hear what the people at Silva Green Fuel had to tell.
