The Applied Philosophy of Science for Interdisciplinarity group consists of researchers working in the interface between philosophy, social science and natural science at NMBU. In our teaching and research we promote genuine inter- and transdisciplinary communication and collaboration. Areas of research include:

• Causality and scientific methods
• Risk and uncertainty
• Transdisciplinarity in research
• Research ethics and ethics in research
• Interdisciplinarity and expert disagreement on sustainability

• Activities

  We run the monthly Research Ethics Forum, which includes a lecture series in Applied Philosophy of Science. Recently we also established the Sustainability Across Disciplines Forum. We are members of the Philosophers for Sustainability initiative, aiming to encourage the profession to take leadership on climate change and environmental sustainability.
