Welcome to the fourth annual Nordic Public Policy Symposium (NPPS) on December 10 – 11, 2026 in Helsinki, Finland. This year NPPS is hosted by the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Tax Systems Research (FIT).
Submit paper/paper proposal by: October 11
We welcome work from researchers based in Nordic countries, or using Nordic data or institutions as part of their analysis, and on all topics related to public policy and public economics, broadly defined, such as taxation, inequality, health, education, regulation, labor markets, or climate policy. A share of the spots will be reserved for early-career researchers
The symposium combines a relaxed academic setting with the opportunity for structured feedback and networking. Participants are expected to attend both days of the symposium, including the shared meals and social program, to foster academic interaction and networking.
Keynote
We are very pleased to have Johannes Spinnewijn from the London School of Economics as the keynote speaker of NPPS 2026.
Funding
The event, including meals in the programme, is free of charge. Accommodation in Helsinki for two nights is booked and paid by the organisers. In addition, travel costs in economy class can be covered for presenters who have no such funding available. To foster interactions, we ask participants to stay for the entire duration of the symposium.

Please send your paper or extended abstract (max 2 pages) to fit.events@tuni.fi no later than October 11 by 23:59 (EET). Presenters of accepted papers will be notified by October 25.
