I am currently involved in research projects investigating the relationships between processed foods and colorectal cancer:
- Norwegian processed foods in the prevention of colorectal cancer (NFR 280667, 2018-2022)
- Processed foods and colorectal cancer: Effect of protein source, processing and dietary patterns (NFR 344260, 2023-2027)
I use in vivo models to investigate the carcinogenic potential of various experimental diets coupled with metabolite composition (metabolomics), microbiota and various other biomarkers of exposure and disease.
I am also the Project Manager of the Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Network project CryoStore - Innovation in Germplasm Cryopreservation for Improved Animal Breeding and the Conservation of Europe’s Livestock Biodiversity.
