I am a PhD candidate working in sustainability-oriented professional development. My PhD is situated within a larger Education for Sustainable Development in Practice research project concerning a School-University partnership based at the Department of Educational Science.
My research focuses on co-developing a whole institution approach as a thinking tool, and the role relational reflexivity and participatory learning have in supporting effective professional learning and educational change processes.
A Whole Institution Approach (also known as a Whole School Approach) provides a framework for re-orienting and redesigning education considering emerging global socio-ecological sustainability challenges. It invites a holistic, systemic, co-creative, and reflexive effort by all stakeholders involved in education to meaningfully engage students in complex sustainability challenges. More on this approach in the 'school' context can be found here in English, and info in Norwegian is available here. A full list of publications is available via Cristin below.
