I research first and foremost on topics related to forest economy, climate effects of use/protection of forest and bioenergy. The research is mainly related to the Climate Smart Forestry Norway project and the center FME Bio4Fuels. An important part of the development of a more climate -smart forestry is continuous cover forests. The development of economic models for this in Norway is important.
I lead the section of renewable energy and forest science. The section has around 50 employees and I have personnel responsibility and overall responsibility for research and teaching within the two areas the section covers.
I hold a cand. agric. (corresponds to master) in forest economics (NLH, 1990) and a doctorate in agricultural economics (UMB, 2008). Throughout my career I have been lucky to work in interdisciplinary projects. My part of that has largely been in the borderland between environmental economy and ecological economy.
