I am a Professor in Leadership at the School of Economics and Business at Norwegian University of Life Sciences. I have a PhD from NHH, specialization in Administrative Science, Organization and Leadership. I have several years of experience as a consultant, working with strategic competence development in Norwegian businesses. I was the editor-in-chief (the first) of Magma for several years. I entered NMBU as an Associate Professor in 2001, and was at Kristiania University college between 2013 and 2017. From 2017 to 2021 was the Dean of SEB at NMBU, and from 2021 i was back as professor.

My main interest is in how interaction and cooperation develops between people in organisations. I have worked with leadership development and coaching, and have published research on the effects of coaching. Further, I have been working on gender in leadership, and have published research on the consequences of the gender quota law in Norwegian firms. Recent years I have concentrated mostly on how managers develop a mastery in their leadership role and have published several works on role efficacy and role development among managers.

I have broad experience from teaching and supervising at all levels from different institutions, both in Norway and Europe. I give speeches and arrange workshops for managers who want to work with development of their leadership role.
