The course will introduce students to gender and development through examining the gendered dimensions of, among others, development processes, power and governance, environment and resource management. Particular attention is given to exploring feminist epistemologies and gendered dimensions of social, political, environmental and economic change. The course will include the following topics (can vary from year to year): Historical development of concepts of gender; gender and feminist ecological issues; masculinities; power and politics; gender in development discourse and policy; and gender and human rights. The course embodies sustainability values ​​​and supports critical thinking to embrace complexity in sustainability and support equity and justice for current and future generations and more-than-humans.
