The student must have knowledge of

  • how landscape plants grow and biological prerequisites for establishment and maintenance
  • the most important environmental factors that control the growth cycle in northern areas, as well as the common winter damage and abiotic damage to woody plants
  • the most common propagation methods for different types of plants
  • plant quality and sizing for trees, shrubs and perennials
  • environmentally and climate-friendly establishment and maintenance, which work tasks are included in maintenance, different methods for the usual types of maintenance, and maintenance plans
  • regulations on alien organisms, the alien species list for the species database and the risk of spread
