Tomohiro Harada is a University Lecturer and PhD Candidate at the Department of International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric) since September 2017. He has a Masters Degrees in International Relations from Moscow State Insitute of International Relations in Russian Federation and the University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom. His fields of research are global environmental politics, indigenous politics, diplomacy and politics of the Arctic region.
His PhD project focuses on indigenous diplomacies in global politics, with a specific focus on Sami diplomacies in global environmental politics. Given the emerging status of indigenous peoples in global environmental politics, he seeks to understand how this is made possible through what kind of diplomatic practice by the Sami Peoples vis-a-vis other actors in various political contexts.
