I am an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, where I teach Urban Sociology.  Previously I was Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Vienna, Assistant Professor at the Polytechnic of Milan, Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto. My main research interests are: Social Inequalities in Contemporary Cities; Participation in Local Policy Decision Making; Social dimension of sustainability. Currently I am involved in three main projects: The ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership project "European Cities against School Segregation"; The WWTF (Vienna Science Foundation) project "The social equity of Nature Based Solutions for climate change". The NOS-HS network "Nordic Landscape and Welfare". I serve as member of the Board of the RC21 (Urban and Regional Development) in the International Sociological Association.

    NMBU Sustainability Arena: Green and smart cities - GreenSmart
    The GreenSmart arena hosts activities and projects focusing on sustainable urban development. We target overlaps in social, economic, and environmental sustainability and explore the opportunities ahead for tomorrow’s green and smart cities.

    NMBU Bærekraftsarena: Grønne og smarte byer
    GreenSmart utvikler og koordinerer aktiviteter og prosjekter som setter søkelys på bærekraftig urban utvikling. Arenaen sikter inn på overlappet mellom sosial, økonomisk og miljømessig bærekraft og utforsker mulighetene for grønne og smarte byer.
