I have been employed as a Doctoral Fellow at the Department of International Environment and Development Studies (Noragric) since September 2018. I hold a BSc in Biology from the University of Bristol, UK, and a MSc in Biotechnology from NMBU, with a specialisation in biotechnological applications in plants. My master thesis included a visiting fellowship at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Nairobi, Kenya, working on genetically modified bananas and plantains. During my studies, I also worked part-time for the Norwegian Biotechnology Advisory Board.
My main research interest is the interface between science, technology and society, with a current focus on the relationship between agricultural technology innovation and gender equity and social transformation in Africa. I situate these enquiries within a theoretical and conceptual framework informed by Feminist Science and Technology Studies (FSTS) and Actor-Network Theory (ANT).
