Emma Charlott Nordbø has a PhD and a MSc in public health from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). The aspirations for creating health-promoting environments and settings of everyday life that support health and well-being across the lifespan represent the key drivers behind her research interests.
Her research focuses on understanding the links between the built and the social environment and health and well-being in the population. In particular, her core work examines which characteristics of the built environment in neighborhoods and local communities that influence activity participation and subjective well-being in childhood and adolescence. This work involves using population-based health-registry data, geographical information systems (GIS) technology and different approaches to evidence-based synthesis.
